This church, dating back to the 12th century, was Trani's first cathedral. Built in a typically Romanesque style, the crypt houses the tombstone of Saint Nicholas the Pilgrim, Trani's patron saint. The portal was recently damaged in a fire.

A charming little church. Steeped in history. It's truly a pleasant surprise to visit, something you wouldn't expect from the outside. It's older than Trani's beautiful cathedral and was itself the city's first cathedral.
