Sacred Monastery of Agios Gerasimos of Kefalonia : Μόνη Αγίου Γερασίμου 281 00, Greece

Bit of a hidden gem this one. Although the building itself is not particularly impressive from the outside...inside is another story. Virtually all the inside wall space is covered by religious murals. Beautifully painted it must have taken months if not years! Most definitely worth a visit.

The monestary feels very modern, as it was only restored/built in the 90's. The small chapel where the bones of the patron saint are kept can be viewed daily around 12:00/12:30 if you're lucky.
