This is an extraordinary monastery. We had arrived a little early and had a broken-English chat with a cleaner and one of the nuns. She gave me a basil sprig and said it was winter basil. Hard to take back to Australia though. The chapel is exquisite. The frescos stunning. A tiny jewel on this lovely island.
