Sadly like so many churches, this one us often locked so we were delighted to find it open when we passed just by chance. If you can visit (usually open prior to mass and We are told most evenings about 6pm). It really is worth a visit, it's so beautiful, the chapels and statues along with the high alter are amazing.

A big turn-off for us was the forced donation if you visit the church. While it is clearly written, donativo or donation in English, when I asked the elderly gentleman if it is obligatory, he said yes that we should pay 2 euros per person …

A lovely church to visit in Ayamonte. Interestingly, you will see many beautiful mother and child statues all around the church…when we visited, soulful songs by Enya and Bocelli were being played and I enjoyed my time there.
