A lovely small chapel, raised in 1450, some gothic style inclinations of the portals and the structure, very rarely seen on Canary Islands. Many mistakes with the pictures here portraying actually the neighboring church

The chapel was built in the 16th century. Its construction was largely due to the fact that the city of San Sebastián was the port of departure for the conquest of America, so the chapel became a place of great religious significance for sailors and settlers departing for the New World.

The church is dedicated to Saint Sebastian of Narbonne, patron saint of San Sebastian de la Gomera. This church was founded in 1535 by order of the first Count of La Gomera, Don Guillén Peraza de Ayala y Bobadilla. Pirate raids in 1618 damaged the church, and it was later rebuilt...
