It is one of the four historical monuments in Salas, located in the heart of the old town. It was founded by the Valdés-Salas family in the 16th century. It features a square bell tower, and inside is the mausoleum of Fernando Valdés-Salas, a politician and religious figure who founded the University of Oviedo. Admission is free.

It was a delightful discovery to find this church in this hard-to-reach village. The altarpiece of the main altar and, especially, the mausoleum of the inquisitor Valdés Salas are particularly noteworthy. The local tour guide gave us a wonderful explanation of the church.
