Church of Santa Bárbara, Écija
Pl. España, 19, 41400 Écija, Sevilla, Spain
Church of Santa Bárbara, Écija is a parish located in Écija.
It's not open, I guess because it's only for hours or because it's Sunday. I saw it from the outside and at the height of the town, that is, very well, I took some photos of the outside and on to the next one.
The tower's origins date back to the 15th century, when it was built on the site of an old Moorish tower. Due to damage caused by lightning in 1892, it was partially demolished, and the first section of the old Mudéjar tower is now preserved as a bell gable.
The church was built on the site of a Roman temple, where a Mudéjar temple once stood, some elements of which are still preserved. It is the first church that was built.
