Igreja Matriz de Safara : Praça 25 de Abril 18, 7875-064 Safara, Portugal

A 16th-century church completed in 1602. Its design is identical to that of 16th-century Alentejo churches, with a longitudinal development and a notable verticality of the volumes supported externally by buttresses on the side facades. It has a main portal in the Mannerist style.

The main church, crowning the houses of Safara, can be seen in the distance, coming from the road to Moura, at the end of the afternoon, as the sun sets, and the church reflects the golden light, a simply breathtaking splendor. A delight.
