Igreja Matriz de Parada
R. dos Sete Infantes de Lara, Parada, Portugal
Igreja Matriz de Parada is a church located in Parada.
This 17th-century church incorporates a zoomorphic sculpture of a pig in its churchyard, similar to the one at the base of the pillory in Bragança. This sculpture may originate from the Castro de Coelhoso.
A stunning church with natural beauty that deserves a visit, but be aware that you might not be lucky enough to find it open. I had the privilege of attending a wedding there, and it's beautiful. It's worth a visit and has a lot of history to tell; be mindful of parking if you're attending a wedding in these natural settings.
"The king's house," as it's known there...
