This church is an entry point for the Levada dos Moinhos hike, which is just behind it. We took the opportunity to visit the church, which is typical, unpretentious, but still very pretty. To visit before or after the hike 😉 …

Starting point for a hike along the Levada Mouinho and Levada Nova, which can easily be combined into a circular hike. HOWEVER, you should have a good head for heights and sure footing, as the Levada Nova is unprotected in places and drops off steeply.
