The largest Romanesque church in Poland, built on a circular plan, is located at St. Adalbert Square. An entry in the chronicles of Jan Długosz gives March 16, 1133, as the date of its consecration.
Legend has it that if a young woman says in the rotunda, "Saint Procopius, give me a man" (or something like that), she will soon be married. The rotunda is worth seeing. The Romanesque church next door and the museum are also interesting. Note that all attractions are open until 5:00 PM.
The Rotunda of St. Procopius is the oldest Romanesque church in Poland. The interior is very austere (but considering the turmoil of history, this shouldn't be surprising). You can enter the gallery, where Polish kings attended services. It's a piece of history, no doubt, and I'm glad I managed to visit it. I highly recommend it!
