Kościół pw. MB Szkaplerznej
Lwowiec, 11-210, Poland
Kościół pw. MB Szkaplerznej is a catholic church located in Lwówek.
A unique monument, perhaps somewhat forgotten. Since the 14th century, this church served defensive and religious purposes in the Teutonic state. While modestly furnished, the 16th-century altar and richly decorated pulpit are masterpieces. …
The church dates back to the 14th century and was built in the Gothic defensive style. 😉 Inside, there's an altar from 1500 and a richly decorated pulpit from 1608-1609. What's more, the church is located in a beautiful area that's protected as a white stork habitat… so there are plenty of stork nests here. 😉 …
An absolute hit. A church built by the Teutonic Knights, with 700 years of history. Beautiful Gothic architecture. We were lucky enough to meet a gentleman (most likely a local priest) who showed us the church and told us its history. It was a great pleasure.
