Beautiful wooden chapel originally used by the priests and St. Maximilian Kolbe. Can see some of his vestments. My group celebrated Mass here during our visit.

Visiting the old chapel—one of Niepokalanów's original buildings—one is struck by the awe that the monastery's first twenty monks were willing to live and work in such spartan conditions (especially during the first winter of 1927/28). Perhaps because they had a purpose that was more important to them than (even minor) comforts?
