Madonnina del Mare (Antro del mostro di Scilla)
Via San francesco da paola, Scilla RC, Italy
Madonnina del Mare (Antro del mostro di Scilla) is a chapel located in Scilla.
Having landed on the beach of Scilla, the Madonna was placed on a stone and marble altar in a niche in the grotto in 1953. During World War II, German troops excavated the grotto for military purposes.
It is a bronze structure depicting the Virgin and Child. It was placed above a stone and marble altar in 1953, inside a niche dug by German troops during the Second World War for military purposes. Above the tunnel where the niche is located is the Castle of Scilla.
Beautiful Madonna placed in a niche dug into the rock on the edge of the road that goes to the port
