Giulio Romano's magnificent Nativity of Mary is located on the first altar on the left, and opposite is a 15th-century wooden crucifix against a backdrop of a contemporary fresco depicting a cardinal in ermine and a pontiff by La Rovere. To the right and left of the presbytery are two frescoes of saints from the late 14th century.
