Chiesa di San Nicolò l'Arena is one of the largest churches in Sicily. Its monumental Baroque façade and vast interior create an impressive, almost majestic atmosphere. Climb to the terrace for panoramic views over Catania and Mount Etna — absolutely worth it.

Admission is free, but I recommend purchasing a ticket to the observation deck, where you can take in the entire city at your leisure. On the first Sunday of the month, tickets cost €1.
