The first church grew from an oratory. The parish of St. Giovanni Battista was founded in 1594, and the new church was built shortly thereafter in 1601. Centuries passed until an air raid in 1944 destroyed large parts of the town, including the church. The current building, with its simple, modern style, dates back to 1956.

The church has a very large square, and the parish priest is very kind and helpful. We musicians often play music in front of the entrance during events and markets. The priest is always there to have fun with us all.
