It is located in the city center and majestically overlooks the main square. The façade is more beautiful than the interior, but as a whole, they make the city of Acireale unique.

To the side of the Cathedral, further back, is the 17th-century Basilica of St. Peter and St. Paul. Its two-tiered façade is flanked by an 18th-century bell tower with a spire and pinnacles. The interior has a single nave, flanked by a row of Corinthian semi-columns.
