Legend has it that the little church of San Vito was built where the saint once embarked for Rome. Built on the ruins of an ancient Norman church, it overlooks the azure waters of the Strait of Sicily: it smells of salt and the scents of Africa. The little church is venerated by fishermen devoted to San Vito, their patron saint.
