Inside, there is an interesting series of 17th-century wooden altars and one in polychrome marble: the first depicts moments in the life of Saint Gregory the Great. The altarpiece of the high altar (G. Pietro Coda, 1630) depicts, within an elaborate wooden structure, Saint James enthroned crowned by angels.
