Unfinished Gothic church on the hill above Manoppello station. Former owners (cistercians) were short of money, I think, so we can see only transept, presbytery and short part of the nave. Yet in this shortened way the church is stupendous

An incomplete 12th-century Cistercian abbey located a short distance from Manoppello Scalo. The chapel of the Knights of the Holy Sepulchre and three frescoes by Martini behind the high altar are a shame. The gardens are closed to the public, and the brickwork on the central façade was added in the 1950s. Worth a visit.
