St. Vitus
86860, Weicht, 86860 Jengen, Germany
St. Vitus is a catholic church located in Jengen.
The oldest part of the church is the tower. It dates back to the Late Gothic period and is unplastered. The nave and chancel were rebuilt in the Baroque style. The interior furnishings are very reminiscent of those in Schlingen and Stockheim. They date from the same period and are very harmonious.
A remarkable church with beautiful Rococo furnishings. The frescoes were painted by Georg Alois Gaibler. The church is always beautifully decorated at Christmas time.
