From the isolated "island hill" with its chapel perched atop it, a magnificent view opens up over the Lech Valley all the way to Augsburg. On clear days, one should also be able to see the Alps. Unfortunately, the chapel itself was closed. Due to construction work (May 2025, road to Hörmannsberg), access to the castle ruins is limited.
A beautiful chapel with a magnificent view over Kissing. The chapel is only accessible by stairs. However, the lower part can be visited without having to climb the stairs. It's a wonderful combination with a circular walk through the fields.
The Burgstall Chapel in Kissing is truly something special. It stands majestically on a small hill and is visible from afar. From there, you have a magnificent view all the way to the Alps, and you can even spot the "Maiskolben" (corn cob) in Augsburg. The chapel's interior is also truly worth seeing!
