Église des Carmes-Déchaussés d'Arles
13200 Arles, France
Église des Carmes-Déchaussés d'Arles is a church located in Arles.
Only the north façade remains along with some ruins that were not part of the original structure. The building is in a severely degraded state. The door to the inside is blocked off. the inside did not seem that interesting, quite overgrown in the back, in the front there seemed to be some large iron elements
The Carmelite church, formerly a reformed convent, is unfortunately in a state of complete disrepair. The building deserves to be restored as a heritage site, especially since the church has been a listed building since 1998. Several renovation options have been discussed, but to date, nothing concrete has materialized.
It boasts an imposing neoclassical facade, but it appears to have never been finished and is currently completely abandoned. The doorway is bricked up, and weeds grow unchecked all around it.
