The Church of Saint-Étienne in Arcis-sur-Aube was rebuilt by Jean de Poitiers, Lord of Mailly, at the end of the 15th century: the date 1503 is engraved on one of its portals. The building was damaged by fires in 1625, 1719, and 1727. It was severely damaged by bombing in 1940 and subsequently underwent extensive restoration.
