In my youth, I served early Sunday mass there as an altar boy with Pastor Wilhelm Havenith of Oberste Heide, who spent his retirement there. I'm sure not many people remember it. It was a wonderful time, the 1960s and 1970s. I think about it often.
Also called the "Nispert Chapel," it was built in 1746/1747 in the Baroque style by the Goertz-Fey couple according to plans by the Aachen architect J.J. Couven. Restored by the Nispert IG (Nispert IG) from 1972 to 1975. The interior features beautiful stucco work.
A very beautiful chapel, well worth seeing, which is maintained by a dedicated community of enthusiasts.
